Moving into an Rv

Before we ever hit the road, we spent countless hours researching what full-time RV living would actually look like. We watched YouTube videos, read blogs, and tried to learn from people who had already taken the leap. Every video seemed to answer one question while creating three more, but little by little we started to picture ourselves living this lifestyle.

The biggest adjustment we knew we'd face was the space or lack of. Going from a 3 bedroom house to an RV meant we couldn't bring everything with us. We had to ask ourselves a lot of hard questions: Do we actually need this? Or do we just want it? It wasn't always easy, but it forced us to rethink what was truly important. Luckily, the trailer we decided on had a good amount of storage space.

As we worked our way through each room, something surprising happened. Instead of feeling like we were giving things up, we felt lighter. The more we donated, sold, or packed away, the less attached we became to our possessions. Downsizing ended up being one of the most freeing parts of preparing for this adventure.

We were incredibly grateful that our parents offered us space in their garage to store the things we weren't ready to part with. Knowing our keepsakes and seasonal items had a safe place made the transition so much easier and gave us peace of mind as we prepared to leave.

Looking back, downsizing wasn't just about fitting our lives into a smaller space. It was the first step in learning that the best parts of life aren't found in the things we own, but in the experiences we're willing to chase.

Once everything we were keeping was packed away, it was finally time to move into the RV. What had once felt like a dream suddenly became real. Every cabinet, drawer, and storage compartment had to serve a purpose, and we quickly learned that organization wasn’t just helpful, it was essential.
